THE DORIS A. HOWELL FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH RESEARCH
The Doris A. Howell Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to advocating for female representation in scientific research to positively impact women's health.
The organization has three programs to promote women's health:

Awards scholarships at the undergraduate and graduate level through their educational partnerships at UCSD, SDSU and USD

Partners with academia and community organizations to award research grants

Holds quarterly informational events that relay the latest research and health findings that affect women's health.
Objectives:

Position the Doris A. Howell Foundation as a reliable source in women’s health by documenting the work and impact it has in the San Diego community.

Increase the donor base and drive donations to the organization's signature programs.
Action Plan:

Create and implement a marketing and communications strategy -- new to the organization

Develop new branding guidelines that would bring the Foundation up to speed on current branding trends

Introduce the Foundation to the Digital communications world through social media, e-mail marketing and the “Keeping the Women we Love Healthy” blog.

Establish communication processes that guarantee a stronger brand: Advertising, PR and Newsletters

Develop content for communications assets

Support fundraising efforts

Optimized Foundation's communications budget through the use of Social Media. Increased social media presence on Facebook, and established the Linked In page to keep the community informed about women's health
